In 2026, The Castle Players will celebrate an incredible milestone - our 40th anniversary. For four decades, we’ve been treading the boards, building sets, painting faces, rehearsing in cold halls, and bringing stories to life for our community.

But The Castle Players have always been about more than just performances. We’re a family of people who love theatre - people of all ages, backgrounds, and experiences, all sharing in the magic (and sometimes the chaos!) of putting on a show.

To mark our anniversary year, we’re launching this blog: Now We Are Forty. It’s a space to collect memories, reflections, and stories from our members - past, present, young, and not-so-young.

We’ll be asking some of our long-standing members to share their favourite moments, mishaps, and memories from across the years. At the same time, we’ll hear from our newer and younger members about what drew them in, what excites them, and where they see the future of The Castle Players heading.

Over the coming months, you’ll see a mix of voices and perspectives. Some stories will be nostalgic, others will be fresh and funny - but together, they’ll capture the heart of what has kept The Castle Players thriving for forty years.

So, whether you’ve been with us since the early days or only just joined, this is your story too. We can’t wait to share it.
