​​​Fred is just trying to get by. Selling black market tickets can be very profitable. Who is he making money for?

Joe has worked at the factory nearly as long as Jan and Pearl. The time has come to move on unless he can be persuaded otherwise.

Barry the bookie plays by the rules. They are his rules.

Gordon Duffy-McGhie - Jim / Patrick / Kevin

Patrick is tired of being a jockey.  He just wants to be able to eat and has had too many broken bones. His mum died a year ago, but he wasn't able to get to the funeral. Is he still grieving?

Kevin can't get enough of Ascot. He confesses to the girls, but will he be brave enough to tell who really matters?

Jim, the TV pundit, has a high-profile job. Having worked in television for years and mixed with the rich and famous, what is the real Jim like?

Shelley has been at the factory for less than 7 years. She is not happy there. She could have gone to college, but instead goes to nightclubs. Why is she so desperate to be rich and famous?

Pearl has worked at the factory for 20years. She has grown-up children and a grandchild. Her husband has retired and wants to be able to spend more time with her, but what about her dreams?
